What ever the case may be, before you go and throw it in the bin, bring your phone to us.
My screen looks like its Cracked?
Solution – LCD screens are the most commonly damaged part of a mobile phone. A cracked or smashed screen is generally a really easy fix. Most of the time it’s very obvious that the screen is damaged. Sometimes depending on how it was damaged it can be not so obvious. Being that the screen is just a display device, if it is just a damaged LCD your phone will continue to operate as it should the only thing is will not display anything correctly. Bring your handset to us for a quick and easy repair.
My screen has lines across it?
Solution – Much like a cracked or damaged LCD this can be caused from an impact of some type. Also can be caused from a damaged flex cable in a flip of slide type phone. Most times it’s an easy fix.
Solution – Keypads in mobile phones can stop working for any reason at any time. If you’re an extreme heavy texter then the chance of keypad failure anytime after 12 months is high. They can also stop working from liquid ingress. In most handsets it’s a cheap thing to replace. So don’t worry, just bring your phone to us.
I can hear the called but the caller cant hear me?
Solution – Most of the time the problem lies in the microphone. If any liquid or metal filings get in there it can cause problems. In most handsets it’s a replaceable part and inexpensive.
The caller can hear me but I can’t hear the caller?
Solution – In mobile phones because of the size of the unit the speakers are only small. So to get large volumes out of the speakers rare earth magnets are used. These magnets are so strong that if there are metal filings in the air or on the surface where your phone is, the magnets will suck them into the speaker. This problem is common amongst trade’s people. Speakers can be damaged by heat and liquid as well. As like the microphone, in most phones it’s a cheap part to replace. My phone turns itself on and off?
Solution – Phones can turn on and off by themselves for many different reasons. From a faulty power switch or battery to even a software issue. Most cases if your phone is turning its self off all the time it just means that the battery needs to be replaced.
My phone is dead. It won’t turn on?
Solution – This fault is mainly caused by liquid ingress or a damaged power switch. When the main board of your phone comes in contact with a liquid, anything metal that has electricity flowing through it will corrode. Over a very short amount of time this will cause short-circuiting and ultimately phone failure. If this is caught quickly it can almost every time be fixed. If you get your phone wet, quickly remove the battery and dry out as best you can. Then bring it into us. Pictured is the main board from a N95. You can see the light blue/white corrosion.
My phone will not read my sim card?
Solution – SIM cards are very simple things. Next to dropping a bomb on them they will live through almost anything. Most times it’s the phone that has the problem. Dirty terminals on the phone and SIM can also cause this. Try removing the SIM card, clean and reinsert it. If this doesn’t fix it? Bring it to us.
My Phone will not read my memory card?
Solution – Check that the contacts are clean and it is inserted correctly. If the memory card is faulty it will not read. A software fault with the phone can also cause this error. In worst case, the memory cardholder in the handset is damaged.
